HKIB Banking Industry Talent Development Awards Programme

Background
Rapid changes in the business landscape being brought about by the active participation of Fintech and other ongoing developments in the region, such as the Greater Bay Area initiatives, all contribute to an increasing demand for high-quality banking and financial services.  The COVID-19 has also accelerated the digital transformation of the industry and led to a “New Normal” that the industry has to adapt to and develop on.  To stay ahead amidst these changes and meet the heightening expectations of customers and regulators, Hong Kong must attract, retain and develop talented banking and finance professionals for seizing the exciting growth opportunities emerging in the banking and financial services industry.

The Hong Kong Banking Industry Talent Development Awards Programme (TDA) (香港銀行業人才發展獎勵計劃) has been introduced to showcase those financial institutions that demonstrate exemplary achievements and good practices in staff and talent development.

Objectives

• Recognise the on-going efforts of financial institutions in fostering the career growth of banking and finance practitioners; and
• Recognise the commitment of financial institutions in building employees’ competence to enhance Hong Kong’s status as an international financial centre.

Award Categories
The programme comprises two categories: 

Category I: The HKIB Talent Development Award (HKIB人才發展獎)(Category I Award) aims to acknowledge the efforts of financial institutions in the areas of talent recruitment and development by recognising Professional Qualification/Certificate holders and enabling and encouraging employees to enrich their knowledge and skills through HKIB Professional Qualifications Programmes (PQPs), including Certified Banker (CB) and the Enhanced Competency Framework (ECF), and other banking and finance-related qualifications. Category II: The Talent Development Excellence Award (香港人才發展卓越獎) (Category II Award) aims to recognise the efforts of financial institutions that pursue forward-looking strategies and undertake long-term investment to nurture talent development for the finance industry and business community as a whole.

Eligibility & Application
Any registered Authorized Institution (AI) supervised under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA); or HKIB Corporate Members/ Corporate Affiliates are eligible for application.

Category I: HKIB Talent Development Award recognises the efforts of financial institutions in talent development in 3 key areas – Engagement, Enabler and Encouragement (3Es).   Eligible institutions are invited to enroll now by simply filling in the Application Form (click here) and return it to the HKIB on or before 8 February 2021. 

For Category II: Talent Development Excellence Award, it aims to recognise the efforts of financial institutions that pursue forward-looking strategies and undertake long-term investment to nurture talent development for the finance industry and business community as a whole.  This award is limited for application to the Category I awardees. Take action now to enroll in Category I.  The award ceremony of this industry-wide award will take place in Q4 of 2021, subject to further update on this webpage.
